A Couple We Can Believe In: Iman and David Bowie

Iman and David Bowie are a bit like Barbie and Ken. Alas, the Mattel couple are not a surreal, ethereally beautiful, biracial couple with multiple (all super cool) careers so we’ll take the reality fairy tale over plastic perfection any day. The porcelain perfect Bowie met Iman in 1992. Both had been married, spawned offspring and had careers. Of course, the South London-born Bowie was already iconic for his ground-breaking sonic adventures by then. The singer has his fair share of infamy – substance addiction and the flip-flop stance over his (bi)sexuality too. Then came Iman, who appears to have grounded Ziggy, even getting him to clean up his act after a heart scare a couple of years ago. She’s also gone from model to make-up mogul, philanthropist and activist for Keep a Child Alive foundation. Bowie seems to be more than happy to share (and even secede) the limelight to her. Who wouldn’t for the chance of being Iman’s arm candy?
