He didn’t want to go and you pressured him into going. Yes, he’s a man but he’s still a human with human responses. Perhaps he suffers from Social Anxiety Disorder? Or is just very bad with crowds? I agree that the ending was a little douchey, but still.

well i agree this guy was a weirdo, but he did say he didn’t want to go, so u should’ve not made him. at least u got to see his true nature! better sooner than later.

How about “Well, I hear you saying that you’re really anxious and that this is really troubling you, I still need to go to this reception but I can drop you off at home or somewhere else and maybe see you after?”

My brother is a vet and there are times when he really can’t can’t can’t handle crowds or noisy places. This guy might be similar.

And as for his acting like a douche… he’s a huma n being, not a ventrilloquist dummy, so he cant blame you for that either.

I’ve heard that bringing a new dude as a “plus one” to a wedding where they don’t know anyone else is one of close classic dating don’ts. However. That absolutely does not excuse his being a complete and utter dick when he was there. I mean, if he didn’t want to go that bad, why not just do the polite thing and say, “I’m sorry, but I’ll be unable to make it. Have a lovely time.” But then again, if everyone did the polite thing, I guess we would’ve have websites like this, would we?
