while the gas station doesn’t sound exceptionally classy, it is a very teenage way of meeting people (driving side by side, pulling over to talk). i think it’s hilarious that he said that to you.
and to everyone criticizing– no, meeting someone in a regular occurrence of every day life does not make an invitation for immediate “in and out”. would you say the same thing if she met him on the subway or in a bar? what’s the difference if they met on the road and pulled over to speak more in safe, lit area? geez, if you want to get to know a retard, refer to the drunk driving story below.

I think it’d be weird if a guy who met you under such circumstances and went to the woods with you on the first date DIDN’T expect to get laid!

I can’t imagine a more clear-cut invitation for a little of the old In-Out.

The only surprise in this story is that he had scruples about doing it sans condom, frankly.

But, perhaps I’m being too harsh– I’m guessing the OP is pretty young and perhaps lives in a rural local where it may not be an option to have a polite-get-to-know-ya over a double half-caf Misto.
