I once had a HS date with a guy, and as we hung out in his room chatting, his entire family clustered round the door and stood there smiling at us, nodding encouragingly. It was really weird but not particularly destructive.

Strange, I guess-- unless the restaurant where you had dessert was owned and run by his family? Or, perhaps his family was dining there and he took the opportunity to swing by for dessert?

Unless I had other reasons to be turned-off by this guy, I find the family-thing slightly odd but not a deal breaker. Perhaps even a tiny bit flattering?

Aww, LOL.

Really, though, what is it with guys thinking it's OK to bring on the family on the first date? I love my big, crazy family. But, it would take more than two dates, or ten, for me to introduce them to a guy I'm just getting to know.
