It's still a crappy thing to do to someone on a date, regardless of the gender of the people involved, so why do you feel the need to be so snide just because the narrator is gay? P.S., the "walk dance thing" is when you and another person are walking towards each other and try to get out of the other one's way, but end up stepping to the same side they do. It's awkward and has happened to everyone at least once, unless you never leave your house, in which case...
