I made the mistake of getting in the car with my drunk former father in law and I landed in the hospital with a broken sternum and a shattered pelvis when he smashed into a light pole. It’s just plain stupid to get into a car with someone who has been drinking.

I think 6:30 is reasonable, especially if you haven’t eaten since lunch. I usually eat later but that’s because I’m lazy and stay up late.

Yea I’m with Lisa, I thought it was an old couple having dinner that ridiculously early as well. Then again, in my country we usually eat dinner at around 10PM so yea.

Where I live, 8:00pm is the average dinner-date time (in fact, when I first read that the date was set for 6:30, my initial thought was, “Geez– is this a story about retirees? Hoping to catch the Early-Bird Special?”)

a) Drunk driving. Yeah.
b) Being passive aggressive doesn’t help people “get the point’, but telling people how you feel tends to work a little better. People aren’t psychic, dude.
c) What is up with not having a plan for a date beforehand? I don’t get that. I can drive around with a good friend for five hours just looking for stuff to do, but it doesn’t tend to work for dates. It just makes you seem really disorganized and really unenthused about the date.
d) Boasting about all the exciting things you wish your penis did makes you look like a douche.
e) Four days off? What does one do with so much free time? Aside from going to the beach and extinguishing flaming porta-johns.

I have to admit, not eating when YOU were starving sure showed him. Better idea would have been to order large expensive meal, appetizer, salad, desert just barely picking at it (eating just enough to not be too hungry) and leaving him with a very large check to pay. Than asking him to stop at a drive thru on the way home as you are still hungry
