WHOA!! Hold on a second. There is nothing wrong with liking anime, being an otaku, or enjoying a little hentai every now and then. People with bad social skills and odd behavior are just that and nothing more. Please do not label entire groups of people based your impressions of a few socially awkward individuals. Your first alarm should have been the way he looks. From what you said he looks like it sounds like he was an otaku(someone who is obsessed with anime). I know two or three otakus and they are weird to be around and only have good social skills with others like them. And the masochism is very normal.

Ugh I personally think that a teenager watching porn is kind of difficult to Not to come by it’s not very odd. Boys do and girls too. Boys watch hentai and yuri and girls watch yaoi and sometimes hentai it’s not weird at all. Seventeen yr old boys having hentai posters on there walls is kind of common. Even my bother has them and my mom doesn’t give. And. It’s very normal for a gothic boy and girl to sometime be a masochist. I am.

I think I know what he’s refering to- the “lolita” aspect of some of the hentai, which is basically child porn. I don’t watch hentai myself but I do enjoy anime and manga, and I know some people who watch hentai- so because of this I do know that not all hentai is tentacle rape, and not all of it is lolita, but some of it is… which, honestly, is quite creepy!

@zomboid – I’m a 31 yo woman and I like watching Hentai too… Seriously, folks, Hentai-watching doesn’t make you a deviant. Neither does watching any other kind of adult porn, for that matter. It’s about personal preference. Hentai is NOT child pornography, which is *actually* abhorrent.

Maybe you had a more prudish upbringing than me, but at 17 most if not all of the lads I was friends with had some kind of scantily clad half naked blonde woman pinned up on their wall. The geekier of my friends who loved anime, would also have a hentai picture or two.
It was stupid, and a bit threatening to any girlfriend they may invite back (‘oh hey, I perve over these perfectly drawn women that you look nothing like’) but it wasn’t weird or indicative of them being bad boyfriends. Just lame teenagers
